I love the interest that the colored velvet ribbon added when woven through the braid. Don't you? You could weave in the ribbon while braiding, or use a large embroidery needle to 'sew' in the ribbon after the braid is complete.
Try twisting your fishtail into an elegant low-sitting updo or bun. The look is polished and playful, and a welcome change to your usual topknot.
